☆ミ My Magic Space & Where Women Create ☆ミ

I picked up a book the other day at the library. It was entitled "Where Women Create" and had a number of inspiring workplaces, art spaces, and stories of hardworking and honest women. I love to see artisans at work and hear how they relate to the materials they use the most. I hope sometime next year I can write to you here about which materials and feelings work out best for my creative vision.

I feel that my own personal space has grown and become a vision of my own soul.
When you put your entire heart into something, people will be moved!

This is actually a photo from last year, but you get the idea.
It's great to share ideas and show others you can do anything if you put your heart into it.
Would you like to share with me of your own art workspace?

My curios, magical artifacts, and colourful retro trinket shelf is a great inspiration!

In addition to the books, please check the blog of "Where Women Create
to see great articles on many inspirational female artists!

Happy Crafting! ♥

☆ミ Happy Halloween 2012 ☆ミ

Hello everyone! Long time no blog. . .

I went through some sort of awakening, chopped off most of my hair,
dyed it many different colours, and got happy!

I go through these periods of being ultimately inspired and talkative as far as new projects go,
and then I go through long periods of holing myself away like a little hermit,
making all of those new projects.

The past few nights I've found myself lying in bed unable to sleep
as I'm just troubled from not being able to create what's on my mind.
I'm working very slowly towards each goal one by one.

Since I can be a very shy person, I find it hard to
let my thoughts flow out, so I'm doing my best
to open up more with my process.

That being said, today is Halloween and it marks
the end of October and the welcome of November.

Take a look at what all I created for Starlight Deco Dream :

Not only did I make a spooky cute orange and black Halloween treats,
I tried making resin jewelry with ACTUAL treats inside : sprinkles!

I'm in love! This is actually a 2-way brooch I made.
The back has the clip embedded into it, so it's not only
SUPER comfortable, it's also never gonna have that pin fall off.

I just about got carried away with my new heart necklaces!
Are you a GHOUL, WITCH, or TRICK?

(Ahaha, Witches ain't sh*t but GHOULS or TRICKS...)

In addition to new necklaces, rings, and bone hair clips
I also offered a Trick or Treat LUCKY PACK.

Special thanks to Christian over at Dim Skeletons
for re-working last year's Halloween ad into a LP ad.

Christian, I owe you a thousand favors if you are reading this
they will all happen all at once at Anime Matsuri.

OH.

What's THIS?

Anime MATSURI you say?

Yes, that's right.

As of August 30th, Starlight Deco Dream is now confirmed for Anime Matsuri 2012.

*ahem*

Now I'll just leave you with my little devilish self from today.

Thrifted shirt, Vargas cross, SWIMMER badge, handmade earrings + devil horns.

This weekend I'll be updating the shop with the new Memento Mori series.
It will feature more Cult Party style. I also have a slew of more pastel fairy items as well.

☆ミ Tasty Food Trucks ☆ミ

Last month, the boyfriend and I went to the HEB food truck-a-thon!
Some of our favourite food trucks were there : Oh My Gogi! (Korean Mexican Fusion)
Bernies Burger Bus, and The Waffle Bus. Sadly, The Waffle Bus's waffle iron was on the
fritz, so no tasty tasty waffles for us. Instead we stuffed our faces with burgers and fries.
The live music was pretty nice as well and it's always great to wander around eating ahaha!

Spicy Kimchi Fries with Extra Beef from Oh My Gogi! Food Truck
The best burger I ever ate was at Bernie's Burger Bus. There was no way I could finish this. Bf ate the rest ahaha!

The tiramisu at the HEB bakery looked too cute to pass up! Surprisingly tasty and not dry at all!

Fruit Tarts : Confirmed for Weakness.

Overall, you can see that the food is not always beautiful,
but it sure does taste SO good.

If you're ever near a food truck in Houston,
be sure to stop by and have a taste of their best item!
The food trucks here are most definitely evolving
